Hello everyone!
I hope you are all having an awesome day. My name is Ashlee Lawson and I’m really excited to be in this class. I feel like learning how to properly edit and write will help me excel in all of my other classes and future career.
I am a junior at Weber State and decided to get my major in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising. As of now, my career goal is to work for a company in a field that I’m passionate about as their event/fundraising coordinator. However, I am always up for new ideas so if anyone has superb career ideas feel free to share in the comments. I spent my first year of college at Utah Valley University then moved to the Dominican Republic for four months to teach English at elementary schools. Part of my heart will always be in the Dominican Republic because of the amazing kids I met. They taught me a lot more than I could have ever taught them.
My family and God are the most important things to me. I have 2 amazing parents, 2 incredible step-parents, 3 siblings and 6 step-siblings. It’s pure awesome chaos most of the time. I also have two dogs, a pig, and I am hoping to get a chameleon soon. My brother is serving a LDS mission in London and my step-brother is serving a LDS mission in California. Both of their names are Hayden, so that’s always fun. Don’t worry, that’s not the end of the double-names in my family. My brother’s name is Tyler, one of my step-brother's names is Tyler, and my boyfriend’s name is Tyler. If I just confused you, join the club.
I enjoy anything outdoors and adventurous. My boyfriend and I love to fish and hike together. Well, except for when I almost get the hook caught on his face. I also make him do crazy things with me like skydiving. When I’m stuck indoors I love Harry Potter, pizza, country music and dancing. I also appreciate learning about psychology and different cultures around the world.
Most days you can find me doing anything active and fitness-related. During the past few summers, I ran my first three half marathons and have now set a goal to run my first full marathon. In relation to fitness, I am currently in the process of getting my personal trainer certification through NASM and hope to help others improve their health and reach their fitness goals. I hope to work as a trainer while I get through college. Currently, I work at Orangetheory Fitness in a sales position, so chances are if you have gotten a million calls from “Ashlee with Orangetheory Fitness,” it’s me trying to sell you a membership. Sorry about that, but not really because Orangetheory is the best!
I believe life is a challenge, but it’s short so we should all smile while we still have teeth. As you can tell by now, I really need this class in my life.

ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you have such great connections with family and stepfamily. I have trouble remembering my stepbrothers' names because I hardly know them! I think it's going to be a great semester. Good luck!
I have too many double names in my family also. James is a family name, but my grandpa goes by Jim and my dad is JC. My brother gets to go by his given name, except when he worked, since there was another James. It is nice to meet you.
