Kylie Harris Introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Kylie Harris. I’m going into my 3rdyear at Weber State, and I still have quite a long time until I’m done. I’m double-majoring in Communications PR/Marketing and Graphic Design, with a minor in Spanish. I wanted to take this class to improve my editing and grammar. I’ve always had a problem with commas. Hopefully this class will help!

Last spring I joined PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America), and I actually ended up being interviewed for a position on the excecutive board. In a crazy turn of events, I was given the position of President. So, if you would ever like to join PRSSA, just ask me and I’ll help you out!

I don’t really know what I want to be when I graduate. I have big dreams of being a wedding planner/designer, florist, National Geographic photographer, watercolor painter, or the person who gives nail polishes those ridiculous names. 

Since I was young, I have always loved writing. I would just sit at my computer for hours, writing these ridiculous stories about a family with 15 kids going on an airplane, or a spy who works in a shoe store. I never realized how much I liked writing stories until I got to college. I have always loved art, so I knew that was something I had to go into. I took the small group communications class, and decided I should try and take more comm classes. I then took Media Writing, and found out how much I loved interviewing and getting to know people and writing stories. 

Some other hobbies I have are painting, going to concerts, roller blading, shopping at Target, photography, sleeping and watching Netflix.

I work at Bell Photographers. I used to be a photographer, but now I work in the lab and get the pictures ready to be sent out. I love my job! It’s challenging and I have to come up with creative ways to solve problems. 

I currently live in Syracuse, Utah with my grandparents. I’ve lived in Syracuse since I was 3. My mom recently bought a house last year in West Point. It was a fixer-upper, and we haven’t had time to renovate the room I was supposed to live in. It isn’t a problem for me though, I love living with my grandparents. Their house has always been another home to me.

I have a boyfriend and we have been together for a year and a half. We actually met in the Union Building on campus! He’s double-majoring as well, in Computer Science and Spanish. We had the opportunity to go study abroad in Spain for a month this past summer semester. It was an amazing experience, and it has made me want to travel the world even more. We are hoping to go to Peru next. 

I have a younger brother and a younger sister. We are all separated by about 3 years. I have two dogs, Mabel and Roxy.
