The Associated Stylebook

Well, I guess it was a good idea to add into the quiz that we took, on how to actually spell The Associated Stylebook. I never knew that there was no space in-between the word "Stylebook". So that is something that I learned. I also learned that when you are talking about morning and night, that there are periods, and that the a.m./p.m. are lowercase! This would have been really great to know when I was sending out a family group text telling them when they need to be at my house to leave on vacations. Recently I was leaving to go to California, and I sent out a reminder text and it had multiple times where I needed to use a.m. and I typically just did “AM” or “PM”. It is nice to have good grammar and punctuation, so I that was something I found useful.

Since I am in California, there has been multiple different times where I have seen errors in spelling. The hotel incorrectly uses capital letters for things that are not names. I am sure they use them for some reason, or they just don’t have people who know how to correctly use uppercased letters.

  1. Hello Paige,
Who would have thought that AM or PM was wrong? It's a simple mistake that we just assume is correct. I wish I had classes in high school that taught us AP style . I'm sure there are certain classes that do that now but depending on what you plan on doing for your career, it can be helpful.

    Good Luck!
