Hi everyone!
My name is Shannon Hulet and I am currently a junior here at Weber State. After going back and forth between a few different majors, I finally decided to major in Communications with an emphasis on Digital Media. I haven't quite decided what career I would like to have yet, but I am interested in going into radio. There are a lot of jobs that take place within a radio station, so I am excited to explore some of those options.
I am originally from Layton, Utah, but I am currently living in Hooper, Utah. I have always lived in Utah (minus the 3 months I lived in New Jersey when I was 1, but I don't really think that counts). My fiancé, Ryan, is the complete opposite. Coming from a military family, he has lived in 6 states. Ryan and I are both current students at WSU and he is majoring in Business. Ryan is obsessed with all things film and has a collection of about 700 movies. His favorite movie is Interstellar and mine is Midnight Special.
Something very important to me is my dog, Pebbles. She is a 7-year-old Lhasa Apso and I absolutely adore her. She loves to go on walks and chase grasshoppers. I got her when I was in junior high school and I have been completely obsessed with her ever since.
Some of my hobbies include swinging on swing-sets, eating french fries, and going to concerts. I have been to over 90 concerts in my life. I love music in any form (live or recorded), which is why I am so interested in going into radio. A few of my favorite artists are Empire of the Sun, The 1975, Elton John, and Bleachers. Live music is very fascinating to me. I love seeing the music I listen to come to life. If you ever need a concert buddy, I'm your girl.
I am excited for this class and what I will learn from it. I've had a difficult time with writing in the past, but over the years and with help from many English classes, I have gained a lot of writing skills. I'm hoping that this class will help me add to that list of skills.
Good luck to everyone this semester!

Hello Shannon,
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you and your fiance are going to school at the same time, because you both can offer a support system to each other.I also love concerts but I haven't gone to as many as you that must be fun. Good luck to you this semester.
Gina
Hi Shannon, aren't pets wonderful? I love their unconditional love. No matter what happens in your day pets are happy to see you. Several years ago I lost a 17 year-old Teacup Poodle to old age. Although she lost her hearing, fur, and eyesight at the end of her life and looked pretty funny, she'd come running at dinner time. I'm sure Pebbles is one happy and loved dog too.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck in your radio career. Not only does it sound fun, but the environment, people, and opportunities sounds perfect for a young gal who's attended 90 concerts.
Take care,
Julie A. White
