Week #13-14 "Designing a complete package" by Julie White

Sheila's Art Studio
It's all about good content. I heard that phrase over and over again at a writers workshop. The enthusiastic speaker pitched that good content, like a great real estate location, matters. You've got three seconds to grab the readers attention with strong verbs and a catchy hook or you'll lose them. In the high stakes of blogging, good content will make or break your career.

I thoroughly enjoy a clever ad or commercial. If it's done well a design can say everything without saying a word. That's brilliant advertising. And sometimes, it's the quirkiness of an ad that just makes the audience linger as in this advertisement below.

Even though good content is key, if you combine it with a great design you'll get a complete package. Several years ago I made a website for a friend. I made sure the color scheme matched, that it contained enough white space, that the information addressed the needs of the seeker, and of course, that the website included a clear and concise message. 2. I never knew the 3 second rule! Also, love the add example - very quirky.
